What are the best places to visit in Paraguay and how much time should I allocate for each?
Comment #1 COIN-OPERATED-BOY from Nowherelandia - 12/27/07 06:56
I would suggest going on a research about Paraguay will help you. But as far as I am concern, outdoor sport adventures and cultural tourism is the forte of Paraguay.
Paraguay has a handful of cool places to visit, including national parks and old Jesuit missionaries. It's also a very cheap place to go, with very little tourists around.Check out more travel information about Paraguay for example in
www.happytellus.com /paraguay
Watch out for mosquitos, though, as there's dengue fever around...

Sorry, there's the correct link.

what is the rate of the current outbreaks of yellow fever and dengue fever?
Comment #5 Darlene (63.176.159.53) - 12/18/08 05:09
Yellow fever doesn't sound very pleasant... what are the symptoms?

Woah woah! Don't start with that thread about sickness and disease over at a Paraguay hot spot thread. If you wanted to discuss this topic which concerns about health, I suggest you create a new thread and not here. The last thing any tourist would want is a false alarm of a spreading or rumored virus which has no scientific basis and based on opinions. Can anyone suggest a great getaway for couples in Paraguay?
Comment #7 Morales (63.176.159.145) - 04/01/09 22:48
Couldn't agree with you any better Carlos. what Paraguay needs right now are good PR rather than scaring off potential tourists here in the forums. If one is interested in the health condition and issues on Paraguay, then open a new thread discussing solely that.I haven't heard much nor see reviews on services about Paraguay. It is always Uruguay. I think Paraguay lacks the internet marketing campaign to boost their tourism.
Comment #8 Lizabeth (63.176.159.253) - 04/20/09 00:24
Unlike Uruguay, I think Paraguay needs a more aggressive online marketing strategy campaign in order to improve their government's budget and tourism. I don't know if it is me, but aren't Paraguay and Uruguay always being compared to one another. Maybe it is because they have the same suffix in the last name of their countries "guay". For people who lived in Uruguay and Paraguay, what do you think is your countries best asset or edge over the other country?
Comment #9 Eddie from Missoula, Montana - 04/20/09 06:59
They are completely different countries, different cultures, different weather, different everything... they are only close in names and geography though they don't share a common border. You shouldn't try to compare countries in Latin America... you should explore each one independent of the others as all aspects of food, culture, weather, people, etc vary. Even various dialects of the Spanish language vary in the Spanish speaking countries (and don't forget some speak Portuguese and even English)
Comment #10 Murphy (63.176.159.145) - 05/07/09 01:46
After learning their language specifically Spanish and Guarini its fun to walk around the streets and buy some delicious delicacies in Paraguay. Try strolling around Asuncion, the capital city of Paraguay. I bet there are lots of places there worth going to.This site might help you though: Paraguay.com

Hi Darlene, please try not t scare those people who would want to visit Paraguay with yellow fever. There are a lot of things to consider when traveling. And I bet that travelers know some safety precaution before traveling. A vaccine to be immuned on yellow fever is the right thing to do.
Comment #12 Castle (63.176.159.93) - 05/24/09 00:26
That is the usual misconception of Paraguay and Uruguay. Is that they are in the same league and same everything when they really are not. Not because they have the same suffix "guay", means that they are the same in everything. If that is the case then you should also be saying that the continent North America his the same as that of South America because they have the same name "America" in them. See my point? Even twins have different fingerprints.
Comment #13 Queen (63.176.159.199) - 05/31/09 22:11
So what do you mean by that Castle? What does fingerprints happen to do with this forum..
Comment #14 block of the heads (63.176.159.70) - 06/02/09 00:58
I think what Castle is saying here Queen is that Uruguay and Pataguay are like these two identical persons (twins) but they are completely different from each other. Like fingerprints, each one is unique, just like both countries. Now now, you should read the explanation carefully before you burst out some comment which will really make you look silly. The information is all there and there is no misleading concepts.
Comment #15 braun (109.111.97.19) - 04/06/10 23:09
yea Queen was probably just a little anxious on the draw there is what I believe. I totally understand, just as not all rivers are the same, or in a North American person's case, lakes.
