Paraguayan Coconut... small coconut... Almost a year ago someone explained to me that the Paraguayan coconuts were small. It never really sunk in what that meant until yesterday. At the Tuesday farmers marketing in the Mcal Lopez Shopping parking lot, I saw a small bag labeled "coco" (coconut). It was full of what looked about like filbet nuts... in size, shape and color... I was curious how that was coconut, and since it was just 5, 000gs for the bag I bought one. At home I popped one in my mouth and sure enough it was coconut. So, I picked up a Brazilian coconut at the store to take a photo to compare the two... and you can see the big difference between big and small... I figured by small they were the size of a baseball or something! Of course, here the Brazilian one has the shell and the Paraguayan one had been shelled... buy someone else! I think it would take a long time to shell a whole bag of Paraguayan coconuts. Expert Page: Expat Services from Total Paraguay |
