| YouTube: Fighting Poverty with Education - profile of Martin Burt Even one individual can make a difference in the fight against poverty. In one of the poorest countries in Latin America, the non-profit founded by Martin Burt has been making a difference for over twenty years, helping poor people to work their own way out of poverty. He's now using a pionnering approach to transform poor youth into rural entrepreneurs. It's not just teaching them farming, but how to make money out of farming. And because the students learn through running business which make the school money, the whole iniative can be financially sustainable - ie it won't have to rely on the government or charity for funding. This avoids an important problem in many efforts to relieve poverty, and ensures the benefits can be felt year after year after year.
