Try the classified section of the local papers: ABC and Ultima Hora, both are online. Short term rentals are hard to find in Asuncion, though there are a few aparthotels around. We stayed at the Aspen (US$ 1300 per month, including breakfast) downtown. No kitchen, just a small fridge and a microwave. WiFi throughout the building, but very weak in some units so be sure to check. In the Aspen, each room had a different layout, some much large and better equipped than other, all the same price! Nice place, if somewhat expensive. |
| "Maison Suisse"
Another place to look at is the Maison Suisse which is located just a couple blocks from Shopping Villa Morra and Mcal Lopez Shopping. You can check with the owner about monthly rates.I would probably describe it more as a bed and breakfast than a hotel. They have a breakfast area with a nice buffet and lots of in season fruit. Good coffee (even better when Claude's wife makes it), and lots of other tasty tidbits to eat. There is also a common living room area and small swimming pool. The rooms have cable TV and wifi. It is in a quite residential neighborhood and walking distance to many delightful restaurants... including Delicias Japonesas, Casa Mia's, Al Capone's, La Estacion Antigua and many others. Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Brazilan, Peruvian, Chinese, and Lebanese restaurants and more (including two centers of nightlife, Carmaletias and Manazana T) within blocks.
